Careers at Inntravel

Inntravel office

Inntravel is an award-winning specialist tour operator, organising walking, cycling and snow-based activity holidays in some of the most inspiring regions of Europe. Dynamic and innovative, we are proud of our reputation for providing quality holidays and the highest standards of customer service.

HOLIDAY SALES CONSULTANT (37.5 hrs/wk)

Do you have a confident telephone manner and excellent writing skills? Would you be dedicated to offering our discerning customers the best possible advice and guidance to ensure they make the best choice of holiday for them? Can your enthusiasm for our holidays and destinations inspire the same enthusiasm in others? Perhaps you have some experience of working in a sales environment, but you would relish an opportunity to work within a knowledgeable team motivated to offer great service rather than achieve relentless targets? You should be able to maintain a positive outlook and be highly flexible during a busy and varied working day where every enquiry is different and where you will be able to use to the full the extensive knowledge you learn over time.

If this sounds like you, and you have good IT skills and a curiosity that drives your desire to learn, then you may be the person we are looking to recruit into our growing sales team. You will need to be able to work some Saturdays, and you should have your own vehicle as we are based in beautiful but rural offices near Castle Howard.

If this role seems to suit you and you would like to work with a friendly and dedicated group of people, please apply by sending a covering letter with a copy of your CV, an indication of your current salary and reasons why we should interview you, to our Head of Sales & Customer Services , Sarah Ridley, at Inntravel Recruitment, Near Castle Howard, York, YO60 7JU, or e-mail recruitment@inntravel.co.uk

DO YOU LIVE IN THE ALPS?

Inntravel features a wide range of self-guided walking, cycling and snow-based activity holidays in the Alps, with plans to develop new holidays and programmes across the region. Could you help us?

We’re looking for people with a passion for mountain life, a good knowledge of the very best places to walk and cycle, and an appreciation of the geography, culture, traditions, history and gastronomy of the area where you live. Can you spare us some time to walk our current routes, writing and updating the detailed notes that our customers rely on to guide them on our holidays, and help us create new routes and holidays? You may have worked in the tourism sector and have contacts locally, so perhaps you can introduce us to people or use your local experience and knowledge to develop new contacts for us?

You definitely need to be living in the Alps, and a base in the French Alps or the mountains of Austria would be particularly useful. You’re a native or completely fluent speaker of English, as our route notes need to be written with absolute clarity for our customers. We appreciate that you’re likely to be self-employed and may have other commitments with only so much time to lend to us, so we’re very happy to work with you on an ad hoc project basis. However, we have plenty of work that can be done and these things tend to grow, so we’d be especially interested to develop an extended consultancy relationship with the right people who have more time to commit and who would be able to travel more extensively across the Alps for us.

If you think this kind of arrangement would suit you, and you’re able to offer the knowledge and skills we need, then please write to us with a copy of your CV and an outline of how you can help to Inntravel’s Head of Product Development, Alison Hall, at recruitment@inntravel.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you.

Please note that, since we offer self-guided activity holidays rather than group departures, we do not require any guides or overseas representatives.
