Leaving Las Vegas

camper vanSetting off on epic adventures in camper vans seems to be in vogue at the moment.

Firstly, there's Rick Stein's gastronomic conquest of Spain, and now, our good friends Davd Lanfear and Linda Lashford are soon to bid a final farewell to their local bar, Bar Las Vegas, in Benaocaz, Andalucia, southern Spain.

In a few days' time they'll hit the road to begin a six-week adventure that will hopefully see them drive the length of Spain, France and then through Germany to reach Denmark (2,022 miles later), from where they catch the ferry to Iceland.

It's all work, of course, as David and Linda are our long-established eyes and ears on the ground in Spain. David researches and writes many of our walking holidays in Spain, while Linda supplies our brochures and website with many of her extraordinarily beautiful photographs.

Some of you may remember David as our on-board entertainer when we ran guests back from Spain in a coach last year in the wake of Eyjafjallajokull's smoky eruption. Undaunted, they're off to Iceland on a research trip for Inntravel (I can't tell you any more at the moment!) with several stops along the way. We hope to post regular updates of their trip as and when we hear from them – so watch this space...
